Victorian Double Locket Bird Motif Daguerreotype Photos

The Victorians loved to use symbolism in their jewelry. Swallows were often given to newlyweds as a sign of faithfulness or to loved ones as they traveled to bring them back home safely. Stars were often a sign of guidance to show the way. How sweet is that?!

This beautiful gold filled double locket is in very good antique condition with both frames and glass still intact protecting the photos of what is presumed to be a young newlywed couple. The front is adorned with both the swallow and star motif while the back is inscribe with one of their initials.
