The double Albert watch chain is characterized by having two equal lengths of chain attached to the T-bar. One chain was used to hold the pocket watch, and the other was, traditionally, used to hold the watch key to wind the movement. From the T-Bar a further small length of chain 1” drop, to which the wearer attached decorative charms such as fraternity or lodge symbols.
This antique is hallmarked 925 with the Anchor (Birmingham) and has the makers marks on both the T-Bar and the Masonic Charm.
Sterling silver chain is 16” in length including the two dog clips. A 1” chain hangs from the T-Bar with the attached 3/4” Sterling silver Masonic charm. In very good overall condition..
