This vintage piece of New Orleans history is waiting for a necklace to have and to hold. Godchaux’s began humbly as a ladies fine fashion store in the French Quarter circa 1836 and years later in 1880 opened a large department store on Canal Street where the first floor featured precious jewels.
This box is handmade in Switzerland, her lining is near perfect and the snap closure works great. The exterior shows only minimal signs of wear.
Measuring approximately 9.5”L x 3.25” x 1” D in very good overall condition.
